The Ball rebound testes is a very simple machine used to identify the rebound resilience of polymer foams.

The machine consists of a ball of known mass dropped through a plastic tube of known height and a known diameter. The ball impacts the sample placed at the base of the tube. A sensor at the base of the tube measures the time taken by the ball from the first impact to the time taken by the ball for the second impact after the rebound.

The machine comes with a digital display which gives the value in percentage. The machine also comes with a magnetic holder used to place the ball in the holder in its initial home position before drop. A sensor placed close to the holder ensures that the ball is present at the home position.
