The hotset tester from Elastocon is used to determine the hot set of insulating material when exposed to stress and heat. There are two models of the machine available depending on the technical requirement.

The basic principle of operation is as follows:

  • The dimension of the test specimen is measured and noted.
  • The insulation material is stressed by handing dead weights at the bottom.
  • The sample is then clamped to sample holders.
  • The sample holder containing samples are inserted into an oven and allowed to bake for a pre-determined duration.
  • The elongation of the sample is measured and noted.
  • After the test duration, samples are removed and allowed to recover.
  • The revised length is noted for further evaluation.

We offer two models:

A. EB 16 – II
  • EB 16-II comes with a touch screen PLC. The oven used meets IEC 60811-2-1 and other equivalent standards.
  • Temperature range of 40°C to 250°C
  • Motorised movement of sample holder into oven and outside.
  • No ventilation fan within oven.
  • Oven has a useful volume of 60 Litres

Included in the standard supply are:

  • Computer
  • Spreadsheet based software
  • Clamps and weights for 8 samples (At a time 4 samples can be tested)
  • Tools required
  • Calibration certificate
  • Users manual
B. EB 30
  • EB 30 is a more basic machine with simple temperature setting panel. The oven used meets IEC 60811-507 and other equivalent standards.
  • Temperature range of 40°C to 200°
  • Manual insertion of sample holder into oven.
  • Oven comes with internal fan for ventilation.
  • Oven has a useful volume of 116 Litres.

Included in the standard supply are:

  • Computer with spreadsheet software is only an option.
  • Clamps and weights for 4 samples (At a time 4 samples can be tested)
  • Calibration certificate
  • Users manual
